What happens when nobody can pay for your accident?

February 17, 2017

Can you believe that the site's already been live for a month and a half? In that time, we've discussed a number of cases, ranging from enormous product recalls that involve thousands of people, to individual torts that impact only a single person. One thing that's been true of all those cases is that there's always been someone injured people can identify as the person or company responsible for their suffering.

So what happens when the person responsible isn't capable of paying? For one young woman riding a bike in Manhattan, she learned firsthand how difficult that can be. Ksenya Samarskaya was riding her bike through the city when a taxi passenger opened his door right in front of her. Her face was scarred and she lost one of her teeth, but before she could even pull herself to her feet, the taxi sped away with the passenger inside.

This isn't the first time a taxi fled the scene of an accident, which is why in 1958 New York enacted mandatory uninsured motorist coverage. The goal was to protect people in incidents where the person who caused the accident was either uninsured or couldn't be identified (such as the hit-and-run we just mentioned.)

What made things complicated for Ksenya was that the body responsible for making these payments, the Motor Vehicle Accident Indemnification Corporation, didn't want to pay her. Because of this, she had to bring them to court and sue for her payment. As you can imagine, it's taken years for Ksenya to get through that case.

Once again, Pre-Settlement Funding provides a much quicker relief. Rather than waiting years, you only have to wait hours! When we're working to get you money, it's not uncommon for us to get someone the cash they need within 24 hours of us receiving all the details of their case.

So, if you're in a situation like Ksenya and just need some money to get you through a long court battle, we can help. You can submit a quick application right now, give us a call at (866) 587-4320, or send an e-mail to info@simiafunding.com - we want to hear from you, and would be happy to go over the unique details of your case.
